"Julie Giraud diverts conflicting images, to reconstruct them in order to better analyze them and offer us, through the juxtaposition of stories, a new perception."
Trained at the Rennes School of Fine Arts, Julie Giraud teaches there today. Fascinated by the images that scroll through the search engines that she selects, archives and works on, she diverts and moves digital images whose theme is conflict in order to construct deterritorialized stories.
Time is suspended, at the same time as our gaze, confirming the artist's statement invoking "An ability to see, to thwart the tricks of the image by looking at it differently" or "How to deconstruct pre-existing images? ".
Julie's works can be found in many private and public collections such as the Contemporary Art Fund of the City of Rennes, the FDAC (Departmental Contemporary Art Fund of Ille-et-Vilaine), in public spaces and even as an integral part of film sets.
